The way she was depicted was just perfect. You see and hear her and immediately recognize that she is powerful and the way she acts is exactly how you'd imagine a Custodes to act like.

The only reason I can think of as to why there is a female custodes is because GW doesn’t like how the female groups of warriors aren’t as strong/stronger than the male ones (Astartes, Custodes, Etc) so instead they want to “close the gap” so to speak, but then again that’s just my theory.

Aaron Dembski-Bowden, the guy who came up with the modern custodes lore (in the earliest editions they were regular dudes, not enhanced super soldiers), literally wanted there to be female custodes from the beginning, but the execs at the top didn't want to make new custodes Female models so they told him not to. But he always intended for there to be female custodes, ergo, there have always been female custodes even if he never had the opportunity to write them that way. When the guy who came up with the lore in the first place says something is true, that means that particular something is true regardless of how much you bitch and moan. It's like the people who complain because the Velaryons in House of the Dragon are black, even though George RR Martin said he liked that depiction.
